Be Active on Media Platforms
It is of utmost importance to follow and share only officially confirmed information from official sources, as well as to present accurate multilingual information to the international community.
It is essential to follow a number of general rules and work jointly and systematically on social media platforms.
Various Facebook groups publish multilingual materials to be reposted on social media.
The most powerful platform for combating misinformation and sharing accurate information with the international community is Twitter.
Take the following steps to avoid getting blocked on Twitter due to incorrect registration:
Use your first and last names when signing up on Twitter (followed by email confirmation).
Upload a real photo of yourself to your Twitter account.
Do not tweet right after your registration. The risks are high that you might get blocked at this stage due to too much activity.
Follow popular people on Twitter who have a large number of followers and retweets.
Retweet and like tweets, not more than 20 times an hour
Do not tweet the same content multiple times. It's considered spam.
Tweet in the same language at the beginning.
Do not tag people in your tweets.
Do not engage in discussions with other people.
Tweet about various topics to trick Twitter's algorithm.
☑Publications should be shared only from official platforms, only in international languages, and should include the original source. If it is possible to translate the information from English into other languages, the translated version can be added in the comments.
☑It is very important to understand how the Twitter algorithm works - it helps to create an international audience, to follow users with a large audience, to follow the international media.
☑The official news should be spread on international platforms: public figures, media, representatives of international organizations. The most effective form is to post the info periodically as a reply on these platforms. VPNs can be used to view trending tweets in other areas.
☑ The number of characters on Twitter is limited, so short forms and abbreviations should be used.
☑No more than 3 hashtags should be used, preferably in the text itself, to economize the usage of characters.
☑Use the “retweet thread” option to keep the official sources active, adding the appropriate hashtags, as well as using the “reply with a tweet“ option, including the official sources.
☑Instead of just retweeting, go for a “quote tweet,” adding 2-3 hashtags above.
☑Make sure not to respond to false information or fake news, as responding contributes to boosting their tweets on trending.
☑Do not let emotions take over. Do not engage in a debate or argue with the rivals. In addition to provoking insults, threats, or mockery from their side, this will only increase the visibility of their tweets. The best thing to do is to report and block.
☑Take breaks from tweeting and retweeting in order to avoid being identified as spam. Quality is above quantity here.
